FOR THOSE OF YOU ADOPTING

I was reading online about the Ethiopian culture camp that was in Virginia this last July. Looks awesome and quite helpful -- something that we would love to attend!

Anyway, it was linked to this website called Abshiro Kids (www.abshirokids.com) which has several really cool Ethiopian products for kids. There are books, a learning video, and music, but my favorite item is the alphabet poster that includes common Amharic words, pronunciations, etc. (http://www.abshirokids.com/products.php?catid=10). Check it out! Anyone have other good sites that Aaron and I should check out?

ADOPTION SLOWING DOWN and LIFE SPEEDING UP

So, now things are kind of slowing down -- partially due to a misunderstanding about a certain piece of paperwork. We are having our first meeting with our social worker this coming Wednesday AND our house is still all torn up. I think I'll be able to finish our floors before she arrives -- that might be a nice touch. :)

Anyway, just plugging along with our online education, which by the way, is MUCH more effective and helpful than the workbook we have to do. The workbook is just way too fluffy and doesn't really apply to our situation. Much of it seems to be geared towards parents who can't "make" kids or who are adopting an older child. Both of which don't apply to us (at least right now).

School starts back up next week. It's going to get busy with Aaron and I both in school renewing our certification, new teaching assignments, finishing up the house, adoption stuff, football, rentals...and all that other normal stuff. :)
