It's Back!

Just got an email that the DC check has FINALLY been sent to our agency!  Hmmm...maybe whining helps. :)  Now, if the rest of our paperwork is perfect, we're on our way to the list.  Yay!

SEMI-SILENT PLEA TO D.C.

Government workers in D.C. - little do you know that you are ruining my life.  Please, work a little faster.  Honestly, I spent one summer of my life in your little old Georgetown neighborhood and I didn't abuse any children.  Not one.  All I did was study.  I promise.  So, could you just figure out how to know that just a bit faster?  Honestly, it shouldn't take you months to uncover the record of a person who abuses children.  I would like to be a mom to a child who needs a family.  You are the only reason we can't be given THE number.  Please hurry.

IT'S OFF!

Yesterday, we sent in our dossier paperwork. Such a relief! Now, we just wait for our agency to check it all and approve it. Once that's done, it'll be sent off to be translated and we will get a NUMBER!

With that relief comes a little bit of anxiety. The good kind I suppose. We've been so busy since we first applied. When we're not doing actual paperwork/learning for the adoption, the thoughts of the process were kinda off to the side. That's kept me sane. Now that we're getting closer to becoming parents, it's on the brain. Aaron's really good about not getting all wrapped up with stuff he can't control, so it's my job to possess enough anxiety for the two of us. I keep running the numbers and dates over and over...creating a strategy that isn't even mine to create. :)

Here's to perfect paperwork!
